Pt Lincoln to WA Border - via Stuart & Buchanan Hwy

You will surely recognise this location as it's our 4th visit.

Lincoln National Park and our favourite camp and recent wedding location.

After a week here stocking up the freezer with King Gorge Whiting and a few Aussie Salmon, it was time to start heading north to warmer climes and hopefully the Gibb River Road will be open when we get there!

As yet we have not been to the 'Chook Man's' show at the Daly Waters Pub, but have heard rave reviews by all who have. He was sleeping when we took these photo's and gone in the cool of the evening to get to Daly Waters on time for his first show. (as informed by others camped in the rest area)

As soon as it hits the ground these's guy's were into the water!

Longreach Waterhole.

Now here's an interesting camp site. Who would have thought it was there, and so much water!

Now you know where it is - just don't visit over any holiday period as it's packed out. Easter 08 over 150 people camped here from as far away as Darwin & Katherine.

This is how we know it get's busy the local constabulary visited us next day, just to check up on us. They sure wound up the jet ski to 104kph.

Now with those's hair cut's - got be Military, Police, or Environmentalist / Birdie's.

None of the above, just goes to show you can't judge by a haircut!

They are in fact Federal Minister's. Bugger the hotel's, we prefer to camp outdoor's, as he's minisiter for ___ fair enough. Now you could say's here's a Senator getting out into the community to find out what's really going on!

The gentleman on the left is Senator Nigel Scullion - CPL Senator NT. Shadow Minsiter for Agriculture, Fish & Forrestry, Deputy Leader Nationals & Leader of the Nationals in the Senate.

Crikey! it's surprising he's got time to camp out, but they where in Elliott of a meeting.

How good is this with a cup'a coffee and your true love to share it with
(sunrise that is!)

No not our fishing line!

Short cut to Victoria Hwy, via Top Springs and Jasper Gorge

Refueled at Dunmara, and the lady stated, 'not a good idea to take your caravan down the Buchanan Hwy, lot's of road trains, bull dust and very rough' - eh! well our caravan is built for it!

Yeah! right, it's a can of COKE!

You guessed it - a HAIR WASH!

Murphy's Law - if it's gun'na happen, it will!

In this case we had slowed down and off to the side cos you just don't know which way these's guy's will take off, or if mum will get spooked and come charging out of the scrub!

Magic little billabong at Jasper Gorge , never dries out. No fish landed whilst we where there! We did try, fly and bait!

Took Steve and Di another couple who pulled in to camp for a cruise on the billabong. No these guy's camp in style - Di's out door dining includes table cloths. Opp's sorry every one does it except us!

When I get Steve & Di's photo I will include here!

No we just couldn't bring ourselves to put it on a hook!

Took the tinnie across the Billabong and climbed the gorge - neat stuff up there, and great view's!

Under bonnet inspection found the auxiliary alternator bracket bolt had sheered off. There was just enough thread thru the mounting and clearnace to cut a groove to remove the thread. Then it was finding something strong and small enough to fit the space and turn the thread out.

Next stop beside's a brief one at Timber Creek - Fuel $2.08/ltr, topped up to get to Kunnara, was KEEP RIVER NATIONAL PARK. A few's K's short of the WA quarantine station - to chew down a few more veggies and give away our honey and any veggies left over to some one heading East.

Some neat formations and an interesting hour or so hike thru the rock's.

We camped at the Gurrandalng camp ground 18k's from the Hwy. Jaenem camp ground 31k's from the Hwy was still closed due to flood damage to the track.

Yay! we are at the border - what time it it now?

On to W.A.

Cheers!
